For the Coffee-Drinkers

If you’re like me and you get four hours of sleep every night, then this is the list for you. I’d like to say I know coffee pretty well, and I’ve tried enough of it to understand what deserves recognition and what doesn’t. So, here’s my top five go-tos for coffee, in no particular order.

  1. The Dunkin Donuts Iced Vanilla Latte - 9/10

This drink was perfectly sweet yet refreshing. As I was cornered by a surplus of Dunkin Donuts establishments in Boston, it seemed inevitable that I tried it, although I’m a devout Starbucks customer. This coffee was a perfect way to start my day, and unlike other stronger drinks, it didn’t make me want to puke. The only markdown I’d give it is for the large portion, as Dunkin only provides two sizes.

  1. Starbucks’ Pumpkin Cream Chai Iced Latte - 10/10

When I tell you I ordered a pumpkin chai almost every day at the Starbucks across the street from my high school, I’m not exaggerating. It was the perfect, sugary fall drink that provided me with just enough caffeine to make it through my day. Call me basic, but don't call me incorrect, because I’m not.

  1. Starbucks’ Summer Cherry Chai Iced Latte - 8/10

I doubted this drink at first. Although it is my favorite color, the foam that tops the latte was a frightening shade of pink. However, I was delightfully surprised by its deliciousness, and it’s now become a part of my regular Starbucks rotation. It is very sweet, and the reason I mark it down is that the sprinkles of sugar atop the foam are so sweet that it is almost sickening. It is an acquired taste, but I think it’s worth a try.

  1. Wildflower Cafe’s Iced Caramel Latte - 10/10

Although my best friend and I waited for an hour to finally get a sip of this coffee, it was worth it. It was just sweet enough to be consumed, but it still tasted like coffee. I’m not usually capable of downing coffee, but this drink made it easy!

  1. Pre-First Period Coffee - 8/10

In the spirit of being inexpensive, I’d like to include the coffee from my regular coffee machine at home. All I have to do is use my vanilla coffee pod from Dunkin Donuts, and maybeee add a little creamer if I’m feeling up to it. It yields the same flavor as a coffee shop drink for a much smaller price. It gives me the early morning feels that I love, and I’d highly recommend using your home coffee machine instead of making “morning Starbies” a habit.
